Three Ways To Prepare For Your Aerobatic Flight Experience
Here at Combat Flights Gippsland, you can experience the thrills and spills of flying high and fast in a warbird, up to 5,000 ft above the ground. You will get to experience the rush of G-forces pushing you back into your seat as the ground rushes beneath you - inverted. Mingling with the clouds, there is nothing quite like the thrill of zooming along at 300 km/h in a warbird aerobatic flight. You will go up with one of our highly experienced ex-RAAF pilots who will put you through a series of thrilling and exciting aerobatics that will challenge you physically and give you an adventure of a lifetime. But you call the shots, we only do what you want us to do - from mild to wild.
Here are three ways that you should prepare yourself for your warbird aerobatic flight so that you can have the best experience possible on the day.
Eat Light Before Your Flight
Eat something light so that your stomach isn't empty. However, don't eat a heavy meal right before you go up as you don't want to feel queasy during the flight. The twists and turns, rolls and loops that aerobatics puts you through can challenge your stomach. So, a light meal where your stomach is not too empty but also not too full will help you feel a little more comfortable.
Dress Appropriately
3D aerobatics can be uncomfortable if you're wearing clothes that get in the way or restrict your movement. It's best to wear something loose and breezy and that is not too hot. You will warm up in the flight no matter the temperature. It's also best that you avoid wearing loose items that could come off, get caught or get in your way during the experience. You don't want to worry about your jewellery, hat, or any other loose item that could fly off during the flight. Either secure them beforehand or leave them safely on the ground.
Take Motion Sickness Medication
While this may not be necessary for all, it might be useful for those who are prone to motion sickness. If you are the kind of person who frequently gets nauseous in the car, on aeroplanes, or on boats, then it is best to take some motion sickness medication as recommended by a doctor beforehand so that you don't feel unwell during the flight. This can help you enjoy the experience a lot more. However, it's not a requirement. If you feel bold enough and strong enough to go without it, that's entirely up to you as well. Remember the pilot wants you to have fun, so they will only fly maneuvers that you let them - you are in control. If you want to chill, then that is what we do!
The best thing you can do to enjoy the flight is to simply relax! Sit back, take in the sights, and enjoy the sensation of whizzing, whirling, and twirling through the air. Breathe deeply, remain calm, keep talking to the pilot and enjoy yourself!
